Before I did that, I checked Disk Utility once again and the disk image still appears to be mounted, so I don't believe it's necessarily the same issue.īelow I copied and pasted an excerpt from the log available through disk utility. Thinking it might be a similar issue, I double checked the firmware update available from Seagate and according to them, my hard drive is up to date. After doing this, the hard drive worked great until now.
After a painfully long time with Seagate customer service, it was determined that I needed to update the firmware on the disk. I had an issue last summer with the same hard drive where it was not mounted correctly. I'm also not able to access any of the files on it - when I click to open the hard drive on my desktop, it freezes up in finder until the disk is ejected improperly once more. So, I connect the external hard drive and everything seems okay for a few minutes, but then the hard drive is ejected unexpectedly and the message comes up "Disk Not Ejected Properly" and will do this every time I plug it in now. I've had the same issue in the past, but I'm now wondering if it's my computer causing the issue.
It is an external hard drive and when I tried to find a place to post this on Seagate, I could not find one. I'm having an issue with my Seagate backup plus for mac.
